Education Talks & Tours

SPCA believes education is an important means of cultivating an individual’s respect for life and love of animals, thereby the Education Talks educate participants regarding the needs and feelings of animals and arouse public awareness on animal welfare issues.

We offer Education Talks to schools, organisations, or groups with flexible learning modes including face-to-face or online. The content of our talks will be adjusted according to the age of the participants.

Talk content

Our Educational Talks convey 4 key messages to schools and communities:

. Respect for life begins with caring for animals

. Think carefully before owning a pet

. Pet ownership is a lifetime commitment

. Adopt don’t shop

Kindergarten

  • Learn about various animals
  • Understand the rich feelings and emotions of animals
  • Develop the proper attitude towards animals

Primary

  • Understand different classifications of animals
  • Develop concern for the feelings of animals using the “2Rs and 2Cs” concept:
    • Respect
    • Responsibility
    • Care
    • Considerate
  • Learn about 5 Animal Welfare Needs

Secondary

  • In-depth understanding of animal welfare
  • Reflect on the abuse and exploitation of animals in society (e.g. puppy mills, animals shows, etc.)
  • Explore ways to establish a pet-inclusive community

Tertiary and Beyond

  • Educate participants on the needs and well-being of pets and wildlife
  • Reflect on the abuse and exploitation of animals in society (e.g. puppy mills, animals shows, etc.)
  • Advocate for animal welfare by supporting the use of cruelty-free products
  • Learn about the work of the SPCA and how we can help animals in Hong Kong
  • Explore ways to establish a pet-inclusive community

Animal Inspectorate Operation

The SPCA Inspectorate will be present to share their daily operation and show real-life footage of animal rescues, cultivating participants’ awareness of caring for animals. Additional HK$800 per session.

Meet our SPCA furry ambassadors

Meet our SPCA furry ambassadors, giving a chance to students interact and experience how to get along with dogs. Additional HK$600 per session.
