Geriatric Pet Care Workshop

As part of our Never Too Old to Love campaign, we are offering the Geriatric Pet Care Workshop to our members whose pets are aged 7 or above free of charge.

Just like humans, as cats and dogs enter their senior years, they will become more prone to age-related diseases. Painful joints may deter cats from groomimg themselves as much as they used to. Kidney and thyroid diseases are also common in older cats and dogs that can result in overweight issues. Dental problems may also affect their eating habits, causing weight loss.

Apart from taking your pets to the vet, owners can also provide proper care to your ailing pets to alleviate any pain and discomfort. If the cause of your pet’s disease can be identified at an early stage, with suitable medication and diet, the progression of the disease can be slowed down.

In light of this, the SPCA has organised the Geriatric Pet Care Workshop where our vets will share pet care tips and medical knowledge with owners whose pets are entering their senior years.

The workshop will be divided into two courses – Geriatric Dog Care (Cantonese only) & Geriatric Cat Care. Each of the course will last for 3 hours and cover the following topics:
