My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

["Duty of Care": How Can It Be Practiced in Hong Kong?]
We have been working hard to advocate for the introduction of the "Duty of Care" into Hong Kong's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance to better safeguard animal welfare.

🔍 Why is "Duty of Care" so important?
Since the UK implemented the Animal Welfare Act in 2007, authorities have been able to intervene immediately if any of the Five Freedoms of animals (including freedom from hunger, discomfort, pain, etc.) are threatened, even without visible harm.

Recently, we were honoured to invite two members of the RSPCA from the UK to Hong Kong. They shared 17 years of enforcement experience in the UK and discussed how our inspectors could use similar legislation to protect animals after it is enacted in Hong Kong.

[Adopt Us – Hak Hak & Dim Dim]

Meow~ We are twins, Hak Hak and Dim Dim! We both turn a year-old next month and it is our birthday wish to find our forever home by then!

Although we enjoy each other’s company immensely, we take some time to warm up to humans. But we can be won over if you pay your “food tax” as we’re both food driven.
If you have room in your heart and home for 2 feisty girls like us, come pay us a visit!

Rescue animals need your help. The SPCA relies on the public’s donations for our daily, medical, and training needs. Please support us by joining the Animal Sponsorship Programme (bit.ly/3sp7CmC).
