My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

If it’s too hot for you, it may be too hot for your dog.

In the hottest part of the day, the safest option is to stay indoors, rest in the aircon, and wait until temperatures drop before going outside. For outdoor time, choose the early morning or evening, keep outings short, take plenty of cool water, and stay in shaded areas whenever possible.

Swipe to see what to watch out for before bringing your dog outdoors this summer.

A safe summer starts with helping our canine companions stay cool.

If your dog shows signs of heat distress — such as heavy panting, weakness, vomiting, excessive drooling, or collapse — move them to a cool place immediately and seek emergency veterinary care without delay.

【 領養我Adopt Me - Wu Tsui 烏咀 】

Hi, my name is Wu Tsui! Today on International Dog Day, I would like to remind those looking to adopt to give the seemingly shy or sensitive dogs at the shelter, like me, a chance.

I was abandoned as a young pup outside the Mui Wo Clinic, in a cardboard box with my siblings Mui Chu (PN 608374) and Callie on 3 November 2025.
As you can imagine, this experience was a little scary for me, so it does take me some time to get to know people before I fully open up. The good news though, is that it doesn’t take much – just a little patience and love can go a long way!

To truly get to know a shelter dog, please speak to the homing staff to learn a bit more about our personality and spend some time with us away from our kennels - the difference might surprise yo
