A Chance to Meet and Adopt Over 50 Rescue Animals

(Hong Kong, 23 Apr 2024) The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA,”) is pleased to announce the upcoming “Adoption Date” event, set to take place on 27 April 2024 (Saturday). Animal lovers are cordially invited to join the event at the SPCA Wan Chai Centre for a heartfelt experience, where they can meet over 50 adorable animals including all species such as dogs, cats, rabbits and birds, that are eagerly awaiting their forever homes. Eight young rescue puppies up for adoption will also take centre stage at the upcoming event.

In the face of ongoing challenges surrounding animal abandonment and mistreatment, the SPCA plays a vital role in providing shelter and care for these vulnerable creatures in Hong Kong. Despite its tireless efforts, post-pandemic adoption rates have remained disappointingly low, and we have witnessed a distressing surge in cat abandonments in recent months, possibly linked to the emigration wave.

At the upcoming “Adoption Date”, the SPCA will showcase more than 50 rescue animals at the SPCA Wan Chai Centre. Among them are eight precious puppies who have recently been rescued and are eagerly yearning for their forever homes. Some puppies are currently still in foster care, making them gems exclusively available at the Adoption Date! For those who prefer adult dogs for their more calm and stable temperament, numerous adult dogs available for adoption will welcome visitors with their waggly tails at our Adoption Centre.

While dogs take centre stage, visitors are encouraged to explore the wide array of other animals awaiting their forever homes. Cats, rabbits, birds, chelonians and rodents are amongst the diverse species readily anticipating the opportunity to be part of a loving family. Participants can meet these adorable animals in person at our Adoption Centre during the event as well.
