My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

A kitten trapped behind a large refrigerator

On 28 February, SPCA inspectors rushed to a wet market after receiving a report. At the scene, a kitten was trapped behind a large refrigerator. It’s believed she slipped from the top of the refrigerator and fell into an extremely narrow gap.

Our inspectors carefully climbed into the small opening above the refrigerator. They spent a full two hours in the cramped space trying to reach the kitten. After repeated attempts, they gently looped a piece of string around the frightened kitten and slowly lifted her back up, rescuing her safely!

The kitten was reunited with the stall owner on the spot, unharmed—and was purring away.

This February, SPCA received a total of 1,873 calls and assisted 387 animals.

If you ever witness an animal in distress, please don’t hesitate to contact us. SPCA 24-hour animal rescue hotline: ☎️2711 1000

The SPCA animal rescue service is free. If you wish to help us help more animals, please donate via bit.ly/4dmd0cj.

“Bus Hamster” Checking In Safe and Sound 🚌
Hello~ I’m the little hamster who was curled up in the corner of a bus yesterday and made everyone super worried.

Yesterday morning, a passenger found me hiding on the bus. Later, someone shared my story on social media. So many people were worried about me, and some even said I looked really cute🐹

At the time, passengers, the bus driver, and the station staff all worked together to try to rescue me — thank you so much, everyone! But I was really scared, so I kept running and dodging, which meant everyone ended up chasing after my tiny little tail. Thankfully, with everyone’s help, I was finally rescued safely and brought into SPCA’s care.

Right now, I’m in good condition — eating well, sleeping well, and being looked after by an SPCA foster family while I remain under observation.

So far, no owner has come forward to claim me. SPCA will continue to monitor my condition closely, and after my foster and observation period is over, they will arrange for me to be put up for adoption. Hopefully, I’ll soon find a warm loving home to call my own.

Thank you to everyone who rescued me, helped me, and cared about me!

My bus adventure has now come to a happy ending.

領養程序:bit.ly/46WAu6g

[Adopt Me – Stone]

I was rescued at just 2 months old in December 2025 after being found wandering alone in Tuen Mun. Thankfully, a kind passerby brought me to the SPCA, where I received the veterinary care, I desperately needed.

After recovering, I was excited to be adopted, but sadly, I was returned just 48 hours later. 😢 Because of this, I can be a bit timid at first, but deep down, I'm a friendly pup eager to share my heart again.

As today is National Puppy Day, I want to remind everyone that while we may be cute and small now, we'll grow into beautiful adult dogs. It’s important to remember that bringing a pet into your life is a lifetime commitment.

If you’re considering welcoming a furry friend into your home, please think carefully about whether you can provide the love and care we need. There are many other young (and older) puppies waiting at our centres, just like me!
Come visit us and see if we could be a perfect match. 🏡❤️

➡️ SPCA Tsing Yi, Wan Chai, Kowloon and Sai Kung adoption centres are open every day 11am-5:30pm (appointment free). Adoption process: bit.ly/42u9Znu
