My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

了解更多:bit.ly/4eDpoG8
International Day of Veterinary Medicine – 9 December

Veterinary surgeons play a vital role in safeguarding both animal and human health. Their work supports not just the wellbeing of our pets, but also helps prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases and ensures broader public health.

This day is a reminder of the essential care that animals need throughout their lives. Regular wellness checks are a key part of that care—helping to detect health issues early, before they become serious.

From now until 28 February 2026, you can book a Wellness Clinic check-up at any of our centres and enjoy a special package. Each visit includes a thorough examination, vaccinations, and specialised testing tailored to your pet's age and health status. This proactive approach can help us spot problems like kidney disease, diabetes, or hormonal imbalances before they escalate.

Don't wait for signs of illness—schedule a wellness exam today!

🗓️ Schedule an appointment for our Wellness Clinics on 2802 0501 or at any of our 8 centres.

【領養我 Adopt Me - Yogurt 】

Starr 😫

[Adopt Me – Yogurt]

Hi, my name is Yogurt! I was found taking shelter in a public toilet in Fanling with my brother, Starr, on 31 May 2025.
We were both so young at the time and had quite bad eye infections, so it was lucky that the inspectors came to our rescue so we could get the treatment we needed.
My brother was lucky enough to find his forever home with a lovely family back in August, and I would love to find my happy ever after soon too.
Although my previous eye infection left me with some scars, I don’t let it bother me and still enjoy doing regular cat activities.
Please come visit me and see if we make a good match!

Rescue animals need your help. The SPCA relies on the public’s donations for our daily, medical, and training needs. Please support us by joining the Animal Sponsorship Programme (bit.ly/3sp7CmC).

【Micky

[Micky’s Happy Ever After]
Hi everyone! I’m Micky — I’m the little pup that gave many of you a fright when I went missing shortly after being adopted in early November.
I’m pleased to report that since that incident, not only have I been found but I’ve also found my forever home!

After spending a few days in the Tai Tam Country Park, I was found safe and sound thanks to the many kind-hearted people who helped look for me! Thanks to every single person who joined in on the search, I had the opportunity to meet my forever family and was adopted last week — this time for good!

My new name is Raiya, and I’ve got a big sister, named Kaila, who is teaching me how to play with toys. I enjoy wrestling with her and might occasionally steal a few of her toys when she’s not looking! These days, I like to stick close to my pawrents and sister, and my tail won’t stop wagging — I’m just that happy!

From the bottom of my heart — thank you all for your love, support, and encouragement. You gave me a second chance.

The DVIU’s search and rescue operation has officially concluded. We are hoping that several of our requests will be considered, including the installation of humane cat traps, and the placement of water and food stations inside the building, all aimed at ensuring that no animal still struggling to survive nearby is left behind.

There are still countless small lives in our society that need our care and help. Starting today, the SPCA rescue team will withdraw from the site and reallocate resources to support other animals in urgent need. However, please rest assured that our inspectors and veterinary team will remain on 24-hour standby. If we receive any official notification — whether the animals found are alive or deceased — we will immediately rush to the scene to provide full assistance.

If any pet owners affected by the incident need support, please feel free to contact us:

1. 於建築物內所有可行位置設置人道捕貓籠,並定期巡查;
2. 在現場及建築物內合適地點放置食物及水源,以支援仍有機會存活的動物;

After several days of continuous efforts, DVIU finally re‑entered the units this afternoon to conduct an animal-focused search, particularly those identified by SPCA inspectors as still having missing pets.

During the operation, a surviving cat was found! We immediately transported the cat to SPCA’s Wan Chai Centre for further examination. Even more touching, we discovered that the cat was “Little Black,” adopted from the SPCA by his owner eight years ago. The owner rushed to the centre at once and was reunited with Little Black! Everyone present was deeply moved 😭 He is currently hospitalised and receiving treatment at the SPCA hospital.

We remain in close contact with the pet owners and will provide further updates on today’s rescue efforts shortly.
