Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule training classes held at both SPCA facilities and private premises as directed by the Trainers.
  • Manage bookings and utilization of training rooms, enrichment spaces, and related facilities, ensuring efficient allocation and minimizing scheduling conflicts.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Behaviour & Training Team, including preparing correspondence, reports, training materials, and maintaining departmental documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, client information, training logs, and other departmental data in accordance with established procedures.
  • Handle incoming enquiries via phone and email, including managing the Behaviour Advice Line and providing appropriate support and referrals.
  • Assist in the continued development of the Behaviour and Training initiatives within the SPCA.
  • Assist Trainers in the coordination and delivery of training programmes, behavioural assessments, behaviour modification plans, and environmental enrichment activities.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal departments to facilitate the effective delivery of Behaviour & Training services and programmes.
  • Support the promotion of SPCA's animal welfare, behaviour, and training services through public events, educational activities, and community outreach programmes.
  • Identify and explore potential opportunities with external parties, including corporate accounts, schools, NGOs, pet-related businesses, and community organisations, for the development of new training courses and workshops.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients and external partners to promote SPCA’s behaviour and training services.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, quotations, course outlines, and related materials for external training opportunities and corporate training programmes.
  • Coordinate with Trainers and internal teams to tailor training programmes according to the needs of external organisations or corporate clients.
  • Assist in following up with prospective clients, partners, and organisations regarding training enquiries, collaboration opportunities, and programme arrangements.
  • Ensure all duties are performed in compliance with SPCA policies, procedures, and animal welfare standards.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Trainers or management.

 

Qualification & Requirements

  • Associate degree or above.
  • Experience with animal handling and care, at least 1 year experience in animal welfare disciplines will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of animal behaviour is preferred.
  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Good computer skills in Word and Excel.
  • A genuine interest in animal behaviour and enthusiasm in working with animals, including the development of skills and knowledge related to animal training and the science of animal behaviour.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to identify opportunities for new training initiatives, partnerships, and service development.
  • Good project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple training programmes, schedules, stakeholders, and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with internal teams, corporate clients, external partners, and members of the public.
  • Able to work independently while also being a good team player.
  • Detail-minded, responsible, and able to follow through on tasks from planning to completion.
  • Experience in preparing proposals, quotations, course outlines, reports, and training materials will be an advantage.
