My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

[Adopt Me – Mong Ju]

Hello, my name is Mong Ju! I was rescued by the inspectors on 27 April 2023 as I was found in Yuen Long with multiple injuries on my body - these were suspected to be dog bite wounds. Luckily the SPCA veterinary team was able to give me the care and treatment I needed to recover. Despite everything I have been through, I am a sociable and popular cat at the Tsing Yi cattery.

Now that I am much better, I would love to go to a loving home. Please come visit me and see if we make a good match!

Rescue animals need your help. The SPCA relies on the public’s donations for our daily, medical, and training needs. Please support us by joining the Animal Sponsorship Programme (bit.ly/3sp7CmC).

An Injured Black Kite Needed Help!

[Inspector’s Log – 21 May 2025]

On 21 May, an SPCA inspector received a report from a concerned citizen about a suspected injured black kite.

Upon arriving at the scene, the inspector found a juvenile black kite that appeared dazed and unresponsive. When the inspector attempted to approach and capture the bird, it flew up to a perch approximately 4 metres high.

Fortunately, the inspector was eventually able to use an extendable net to successfully capture the black kite!

A preliminary examination revealed no obvious fractures, but the bird’s breathing was noticeably rapid. The inspector placed the kite in a carrier and promptly transported it to the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden’s Wild Animal Rescue Centre for further care.

This May, SPCA received a total of 2,505 calls and assisted 643 animals. The SPCA animal rescue service is free. If you wish to help us help more animals, please donate via bit.ly/4dmd0cj.

[The Rescue Story of 39 Dogs and 2 Cats (Part 1)]
"Inside the cages, there was nothing but feces…"

Last year, we rescued 39 dogs and 2 cats from an extremely filthy unit. They were trapped on floors covered in feces, surrounded by cockroaches and rats. Their health conditions were dire, and the sight was truly heartbreaking…

👉🏻 Tap into our Story to revisit the case details and court verdict.

This time, we’ve invited:
🔹 SPCA Inspector Edmond – To share firsthand accounts of the rescue operation.
🔹 Dau Dau’s new owner, Jo – To tell the touching story of how Dau Dau went from being fearful to regaining trust and finding happiness.

Thinking of getting a pet? Why not consider adoption?
These lives, once hurt and abandoned, are still willing to trust humans again. If you’re ready to give them a chance, they will repay you with a lifetime of unconditional love.

[Adopt Me – Peng Chau Brothers]

Hello, we're Truffle (PN 583018),
Choco (PN 583019), Don Don (PN 583020) and Sing Sing (PN 583017)!
We are part of a litter of 8 puppies, found at around 1-week-old in a rubbish bin on Peng Chau, on 9 November 2024.

Despite our sad start, we are all friendly to people and dogs. We love to stick close to those we love and will happily play with others or on our own.
Of the 8 of us, 4 of our brothers;
Alton, Eden, Tony and Tin Tin were lucky enough to have already found loving homes, and we hope to have the same luck soon!
Please come visit us and see if we make a good match.

Rescue animals need your help. The SPCA relies on the public’s donations for our daily, medical, and training needs. Please support us by joining the Animal Sponsorship Programme (bit.ly/3sp7CmC).
