My pet is sick but it is an Emergency?

It is difficult and unwise to try to list conditions that are emergencies as each situation is different, but problems such as difficulty giving birth, not passing urine, prolapsed eye, breathing difficulty, open wounds, poisoning or traffic accidents generally require immediate treatment.

Black Kite Trapped in Netting 🦅
[Inspector’s - 1 July 2025]

Around mid-day, on 1 July, the inspectors were called out to Whampoa, where there were reports that an adult black kite had been trapped in some scaffolding netting on the exterior wall of a building for two days.
Fire Services were also called to the scene to help lift the inspector to the bird’s location, using an aerial platform, where he successfully captured it.
The black kite was then sent to Kadoorie Farm (KFBBG) for care.

The SPCA inspectors don’t just respond to calls for owned animals, but also rescue stray and wild animals, in addition to assisting with collections.

This July, SPCA received a total of 2,314 calls and assisted 558 animals.
The SPCA animal rescue service is free. If you wish to help us help more animals, please donate via bit.ly/4dmd0cj.

👉捐款支持CCCP,守護更多街貓:bit.ly/4nMoWKC?r=qr

[25th Anniversary of CCCP – A Volunteer’s Perspective]
While enjoying all the fun activities at the SPCA x HKJC SumMEOW Festival, let’s not forget to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Cat Colony Care Programme (CCCP)! This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible volunteers.

This time, we’ve invited Tammy, a volunteer carer for the CCCP for 18 years, to explain how the CCCP helps improve street cats’ welfare. What motivates her to continue volunteering for 18 years?

Tammy is just one of the many passionate volunteers who play a crucial role in the success of the CCCP. But the mission to improve the lives of street cats cannot rest solely on their shoulders—it also depends on you!

立即捐款:bit.ly/44ogiXF

[International Dog Day]

The adoption rates for our canine companions have dropped 70% since 2016, meaning that many dogs wind up becoming “long-stayers,” staying at our shelters for years.

Although our dogs are well looked after by our staff and volunteers, they really need a home of their own to thrive.

If you are looking for a canine companion, we urge you to adopt, not shop.
By adopting, you save two lives: the animal you adopt and another rescue animal in need.
See our animals available for adoption: https://bit.ly/3Hd5XZh

If you are unable to adopt, your donation and support ensures that our rescue animals get the care and treatment they need until they can go on to find their forever homes. Donate here: bit.ly/3sp7CmC
