對於我們早前發表的帖文引起不同理解或造成誤解，我們在此致歉。阻止真相被傳播或討論，從來都不是我們的本意。相反，我們發佈帖文的目的，正正是希望與公眾一同持續關注事件，在避免引發青少年模仿風險的前提下，持續反映事件、喚起關注，同時促請有關方面嚴肅跟進及處理。 感謝大家對動物的關心，亦感謝每一位願意為牠們發聲的人。 In light of the confusion arising from our earlier post, we would like to express our apologies. It has never been our intention to prevent the truth from being shared or discussed. On the contrary, the purpose of our post was to keep public attention focused on the incident and to encourage continued engagement from the community with us. At the same time, we hope to do so in a way that avoids encouraging imitation by teenagers, while urging the relevant authorities to take the matter seriously and handle it with appropriate follow-up. Thank you for your concern for animals, and thank you to everyone who continues to speak up for them.
我們對廣東揭陽流浪母犬及幼犬遇害事件深感痛心與憤怒。任何虐待動物、以生命痛苦取樂的行為，都不應被容忍，更不應被輕描淡寫地視作玩笑或惡作劇。 這起事件不只是個別悲劇，更是一個值得整個社會正視的生命教育警鐘。當殘害動物的事件一再發生，我們不能總是在悲劇發生後才表達惋惜與憤怒，而應進一步反思：究竟要如何從立法、教育與社會意識層面，推動真正有效的改變。 目前，動物保障法例仍有很大的改善空間。我們需要更完善的動物保護法律，不僅要有明確而具阻嚇力的懲處機制，也應納入更完整的飼養責任與謹慎責任觀念，讓每一個生命都能獲得應有的基本保障。 與此同時，社會亦必須加強有關尊重生命、愛護動物與培養同理心的教育。唯有讓下一代理解生命的價值，並從小學會尊重與善待弱小，我們才有可能減少傷害，建立一個更具同情心與責任感的社會。父母與監護人亦必須在引導孩子對待動物的態度與行為上扮演核心角色，並在未有履行此責任時承擔相應責任。 真正的保護，不是在傷害發生之後才補救，而是在悲劇發生之前，就讓牠們得到應有的保障。 目前，愛協正和内地組織合作，研究在某些城市制定「伴侣動物保護條例」的可能性。我們也在積極推動本港防止殘酷對待動物條例的修訂，爭取建立動物受虐預警機制，在傷害來臨前制止。 儘管此事件並不屬於香港警方的管轄範圍，我們仍已向香港警方作出舉報。警方回覆表示，將會要求 Threads 及 YouTube 移除相關影片。 我們歡迎任何有助防止暴力及有害內容進一步傳播的行動，並期望所有相關平台都能負責任地迅速採取行動。 For English, please read the comments section.

【領養我哋 - 一班小倉鼠🐹 】 我哋嘅中心一共有9隻倉鼠等待緊領養，而佢哋全部都曾經被不負責任嘅主人棄養🙁 倉鼠細細隻，睇落超級可愛！所以好多人都以為養倉鼠咁細隻，好易啫～ 但其實倉鼠有自己獨特嘅需要。當主人要真正落手照顧佢哋，發現原來唔係想像中咁簡單，有啲主人就會選擇棄養，冇做好身為主人嘅責任！我哋呢 9 隻倉鼠有 8 隻係俾主人棄養，淨低嗰 1 隻係直接俾人揼咗喺垃圾站😨 ⚠️喺領養任何動物之前，無論佢望落有幾咁「容易養」都好，都請大家停低仔細考慮清楚！動物唔係玩具，絕對唔應該因為唔方便，就以各種方式將佢哋棄養。 如果有妥善照顧，倉鼠壽命可長達 4 年。如果你準備好為佢哋提供一個永遠嘅安全家園，我哋非常歡迎你嚟了解一吓呢班小倉鼠🤗 愛協青衣、灣仔、九龍及西貢領養中心每日上午11時至下午5時30分開放，無需預約。領養程序：bit.ly/46WAu6g 待領養動物嘅日常起居、醫療同行為訓練開支都靠大家支持。希望你參加「助養動物計劃」(bit.ly/44ogiXF)，幫吓有需要嘅動物啦。 Currently, we have 9 hamsters across our Hong Kong centres available for adoption—sadly, all of them are with us due to irresponsible ownership. Hamsters are tiny and undeniably cute, so many people assume they can be easy “starter pets” without doing proper research. But hamsters have specific needs, and once the reality of care, habitat setup, diet, and responsible handling sets in, some owners give up instead of committing. That’s why 8 of the 9 hamsters were surrendered, and 1 was found dumped at a rubbish collection point. ⚠️ Before adopting any companion animal—no matter the size, species, or how “low maintenance” it seems—please pause and think carefully. Pets are sentient beings. They are not toys, and they should never be abandoned, disposed of, or surrendered because life becomes inconvenient. These hamsters are nocturnal, can make loving companions, and may live for up to 4 years with the right care. If you’re ready to provide a safe, caring, long-term home, we would love to hear from you. Please come visit our centres and apply to adopt one of these hamsters today.
