Some conditions show no visible symptoms and can only be detected through proper health checks and diagnostic tests. Preventive care isn’t just about treatment — it’s about early detection and long-term wellbeing. 啟德海旁發現紅耳龜！🐢 【愛協督察手記 – 2025年10月21日】 10月21日，有人喺啟德體育園對出海旁發現一隻紅耳龜，見到龜龜自己一個喺水面飄吓飄吓，就立即聯絡愛協督察，出發救助龜龜！ 紅耳龜呢個品種係無辦法喺鹹水生存，所以督察懷疑係人爲棄養或者非法放生，情況足以危及龜龜性命！但龜龜已漂離岸邊太遠，只用身上嘅設備係直程冇辦法接觸到龜龜。我哋嘅督察就落水游向龜龜，最後成功救援！ 龜龜事後被送到愛協青衣中心檢查，而家接受緊我哋嘅悉心照顧，希望龜龜早日健健康康！ ☎️愛協24小時動物拯救熱線：2711 1000 今年10月，愛協一共接咗1,600個求助電話，協助咗370隻動物。 🩵愛協嘅動物拯救服務係免費嘅，如果你都想支持督察嘅工作，可透過 bit.ly/4dmd0cj 捐款。 🎄 愛協感謝週特別優惠 由即日起至 12月31日，成功登記每月捐款滿港幣100元或以上，或單次捐款港幣380元或以上至動物拯救基金，即可獲贈專屬訂製聖誕掛飾一個。🎅🏻 Red-Eared Slider Turtle Found in Kai Tak Seafront! 🐢 [Inspector’s Log – 21 October 2025] On 21 October, SPCA inspectors responded to an urgent request for assistance about a case of a red-eared slider turtle was spotted floating in the sea near Kai Tak Sports Stadium. Red-eared slider turtles cannot survive in saltwater. Therefore, it was suspected to be caused by human abandonment or misguided mercy release, threatening the turtle’s life! However, the turtle had drifted too far from shore to be reached by equipment. In the light of this, our inspector swam out to retrieve it successfully. The turtle was then transported to our Tsing Yi Centre for treatment and is currently under care with hopes for a full recovery. If you ever witness an animal in distress, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
