Whether it's poisoning, choking, bleeding, or cramps, the SPCA's Canine First Aid Course can greatly increase your dog's survival in an emergency by equipping you with the knowledge and skills to provide immediate care until veterinary help is available.

Learn from Chief Veterinary Surgeon, Dr. Jane, on how to check your dog's vital signs, such as breathing patterns, heartbeat, and temperature, to distinguish whether your dog's condition is minor or requires urgent medical attention from professionals.

【狗狗急救】英語教授

無論係中毒、窒息、失血定抽筋等，如果狗狗不幸遇到緊急情況，主人能夠盡快發現及施行急救，可能會有多一線生機！主人可以檢查狗狗生命指數，例如呼吸模式、心跳、體溫等，去了解狗狗情況。

例如，正常呼吸模式：
- 每分鐘10-30次（大型狗隻次數會較少)
- 每分鐘最多200下喘氣次數（張口伸舌的呼吸）

想更深入了解狗狗急救，可報讀5月24日（星期六）嘅面授課程。課程提供基本急救指引，及學習分辨狗狗嘅狀況屬於緊急或輕微而作出應變。

全城狗狗行善日2025已經完滿結束！

其中「哈哈後援會❤️❤️」勇奪最高籌款金額小隊冠軍寶座🙌🏻！佢哋由嚟自愛協、做緊寵物義工嘅Billion同肥妹組成。呢pair兄妹檔係領養之後首次合體，一齊參加慈善步行，仲希望幫仲喺愛協等緊新屋企嘅兄弟Harley籌款添！

[Adopt Me – Mia]

Hi, my name is Mia! I was rescued by inspectors on 10 March 2025, after a kind passerby had spotted me wandering around the streets of Tsing Yi, with a bad injury to my left hind leg.

It was suspected that I was hit by a car, and the vets needed to amputate my injured leg as a result.

Since my operation, I have recovered well and am an active, friendly and clever pup!

I don't let the fact that I am missing a leg slow me down, and I hope my future owner won’t let it bother them either! Please come visit me in Tsing Yi Centre and see if we make a good match!

To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month in May, SPCA works with Risewise to turn The Nest into a Therapy Dog Wellness Cafe Workshop for one day only😍.

We have invited two pups, Daisy and Gum Gum, to be goodwill ambassadors at The Nest Cafe. These fully trained therapy dogs help neurodiverse learners promote animal-human bonding.

【見到獼猴應該點做？ 🐵】
由於過往太多人鍾意餵馬騮，搞到香港野生猴子數量急劇增加。由於人類經常接觸馬騮，影響咗佢哋嘅習性，有啲馬騮已經唔再驚人😓甚至同人類產生衝突

有見及此，漁護署於1999年開始試行獼猴絕育計劃，2009年同其他機構合作進一步推展絕育計劃同監察佢哋嘅數量，希望可以緩和人猴衝突

今年國際獼猴週嘅主題係尊重獼猴嘅天性。其實要尊重同保護我哋嘅獼猴，我哋應該同佢哋保持距離，盡可能同佢哋減少接觸！即刻睇圖了解見到佢哋應該點做！

[How should we behave around macaques?]
In the past, so many people enjoyed feeding monkeys leading to a surge in the wild macaque population in Hong Kong. While human frequently interact with macaques, their behaviours are affected. Some is no longer afraid of human, and even create conflicts with us.

In view of this, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department launched a trial of contraceptive/sterilisation treatments on monkeys in 1999. In 2009, the programme was further expanded in collaboration with other organisations, along with monitoring of their population, hoping to deal with the issue of human macaque conflicts.

The topic of this year’s International Macaque Week is #RespectTheirNature. We should all respect and protect our macaques and do our best to reduce interactions with them! Check out the images to see how you should behave around them.
