Hotline Operator (Night Shift)

  • To be responsible for managing the Inspectorate Hotline
  • To receive phone calls from the public, government departments and other agencies, etc. and handle complaint cases
  • To record particulars of the callers and the phone calls accurately and promptly
  • To liaise with colleagues in response to the phone calls received and arrange for actions
  • To monitor and record results of actions taken by colleagues
  • To assist the unit in any other lawful duties including clerical and support duties as and when required


  • Post-secondary or above with at least two years’ relevant experience
  • Have a good command of spoken English and Cantonese, Putonghua language skills would be an advantage
  • Good communication skill and excellent telephone manner
  • Able to deal with difficult callers
  • Friendly, outgoing, self initiative and able to work under pressure
  • Work shifts to be two-days on and two-days off with 12 hours per shift (20:30 – 08:30) at our Kowloon Centre
  • Amenable to discipline
  • Genuine interest in the welfare of all animals
