Dental Care

Dental disease is one of the most common problems in domestic pets. Symptoms include bad breath, swollen gums, loose teeth, drooling and pain when eating.

In order to maintain oral hygiene and prevent dental disease, pet owners are advised to:

  • Brush your pets teeth daily with toothpaste or gel on a tooth brush.
  • Occasionally use specially designed chews or toys.
  • Give a special dental diet as prescribed by your vet.
  • Last but not least, have your vet check your pet's teeth at least annually. This can be done at the same time as the annual vaccination. Your vet will be more than happy to advise you as to whether professional scaling and polishing under anaesthesia is necessary.
