NAME:
Jenny Chu
TITLE:
Veterinary Surgeon
NATIONALITY:
Chinese
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), University of Sydney, Australia.
CAREER PATH:
Since early childhood I have always felt a sense of contentment and happiness around animals. During my studies I worked as a veterinary nurse to gain more experience particularly in animal care. After graduation, I came back to Hong Kong and worked in a few private clinics before joining the SPCA.
VETERINARY INTERESTS:
Internal medicine and radiology.
REASONS FOR WORKING AT THE SPCA (HK):
I have always been very compassionate towards animals. However, since working as a veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong I have noticed the welfare of animals is sadly not always prioritised. I believe improving animal welfare will not only benefit animals but also benefit Hong Kong as a whole. Even when I was working in private practice I assisted in desexing street cats, and I hope to be able to have even more influence on improving the welfare of homeless animals a whilst working at the SPCA.
PETS:
My lovely Poodle "Ya" who was rescued from a breeder and Golden Retriever "Molly" who was found trapped in a water catchment.
INTERESTS:
Tennis, volleyball and especially spending time at the beach with my dogs!
