NAME:
Denise Chan
TITLE:
Veterinary Surgeon
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Surgery (BVMBVS), University of Nottingham, UK.
CAREER PATH:
After graduation, I spent four weeks working as a volunteer at a spay-neuter charity in Langkawi, Malaysia where I have gained valuable welfare experience. I have always been keen to work for a welfare charity organisation and was lucky enough to join the veterinary team in December 2013.
VETERINARY INTERESTS:
I am developing special interests in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Animal Welfare. However, I am still enjoying exploring the great variety of veterinary science available as a relatively new graduate.
REASONS FOR WORKING AT THE SPCA (HK):
The SPCA is the largest animal welfare organisation in Hong Kong with a busy work-load and high standard of care. This environment allows me to explore a wide diversity of cases while being supported by a large number of experienced team members.
PETS:
Two toy poodles “Winnie” and “Honey”, and Corgi called “Cookie” and a tabby cat named “Sau” which I adopted whilst in the UK.
INTERESTS:
Travelling, singing and relaxing at the spa and enjoying massages!
