Head of Education and Community Engagement

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for leading the Department including developing departmental vision, goals, priorities and strategic plans;
  • Responsible for managing the Department personnel, including supervising, inspiring, training, and providing professional development for staff and creating a positive, team-oriented and productive work environment;
  • Oversee analysis, reporting and program improvements, and implementation of program policies and procedures;
  • Develop outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships and fundraising/funding. Identify external funding opportunities and write proposals and research grants;
  • Represent the Society or program to the broader university, external community, and other stakeholders. Provide expert consultation related to program development, funding opportunities, or other specialty area;
  • Teach or co-teach courses; oversee the administration of courses; create and/or advise in the development of curriculum; and/or advise students, coach and mentor clients and programme staff;
  • Ensure all delivery staff are fully trained in specific programmes within the curriculum area;
  • Evaluate the efficiency and progress of the education and skills curriculums and create evaluation and monitoring strategies for the curriculum alongside the Society;
  • Actively participates in community and corporate networking events and meetings;
  • Responsible for oversight of the volunteer programme including developing and implementing volunteer training;
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or Master degree (preferred) in Education or Marketing or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in education administration, public engagement programs in educational, program development, with no less than 5 years in a leading position
  • Has solid proven experience in community engagements/partnership managements;
  • Must have the PASSION to give back to societies most importantly
  • Outgoing personality, able to relate to people of all ages;
  • Strong ability to interact with the public and high-level individuals and work collaboratively with diverse parties;
  • Ability to create multi-faceted set of educational programs from the ground-up;
  • Excellent staff management skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of employees;
  • Ability to multi-tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficient in English and Chinese for both verbal and written contexts
