 Responsibilities:

  • To assist the veterinary surgeon in hospital and surgical work for stray animals and rehoming animals as well as SPCA animal birth control programmes (CCCP, CDP, SNV, shelter) and community programmes;
  • To work with various teams or department including the Kennel Keepers, Veterinary Assistants/Nurse, Customer Service Representative, Behaviour Training teams to provide the best care to animals;
  • To act as a liaison between the Welfare Department and the public, including answering medical enquiries about animals, contacting and explaining the animals’ condition to the public by instruction of supervisor or veterinary surgeon, helping with see-outs for homing animals, etc.;
  • To maintain stock level and cleanliness of work areas;
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned by Welfare Manager.

 

Requirements:

  • F.6/HKDSE graduate or above
  • Good command of written and spoken English & Cantonese, spoken Putonghua will be advantage
  • Preferable with 1 year’s working experience in handling animals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, self motivation and ability to work under pressure
  • Able to work on shift duty in different centres and locations so as on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays
  • Preferable but not essential to have studied biology/animal science
  • Holder of class 1 and 2 driving licence will be advantage
  • Genuine interest in the welfare of all animals
