Our Mission

The mobile clinic services the need of around 3,000 companion animals per year and offers reduced cost services to pet owners who are unable to afford basic veterinary care. The clinic is available to both members and non-members and allows the SPCA to maintain a presence in outlying areas to facilitate the promotion of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

Background

The SPCA has been providing a mobile clinic service to the New Territories since 1987. The areas served are Shatin, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan and later expand to include Tung Chung. After a successful fundraising appeal, our third generation mobile clinic began operation in April 2007, providing improved facilities, including fully computerised records and a larger, more comfortable examination room.

The Future

Serving the New Territories and Outlying Islands, the SPCA mobile clinic is an important contribution to:

  • The welfare of animals in the area
  • The well-being of the less well-off members of the public in the vicinity who nonetheless should be able to benefit from the companionship of animals
  • The provision of committed, quality, consistent and caring veterinary medicine in these neighbourhoods
