24-06-2019, Hong Kong SPCA Charity Raffle Ticket 2019 Love for Life Begins with Love for Animals

(24 June, Hong Kong) The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA (HK)” or “the Society”) Charity Raffle Fundraiser has officially concluded. We owe the successes of this event to those who purchased tickets, our volunteers, participating corporations, and especially our sponsors who supported us with their donated prizes.

The theme for this year’s Charity Raffle Fundraiser is “Love for Life Begins with Love for Animals”, which aims at promoting love for animals and safeguarding animal welfare.Every year, SPCA (HK) inspectors receive more than 23,000 calls requiring assistance and rescue more than 1,500 animals. Be it rain or shine, inspectors stand by their post 24-hours to place their best foot forward in rescuing animals in danger. Each year, the SPCA homes more than 2,000 animals. Those entering our doors are given dedicated care by our veterinary and homing teams as well as foster families, to help them ultimately find their forever homes.

Ms Gigi Fu, the President of the SPCA said, “At SPCA (HK), 99% of our operation cost is funded by private donations and our veterinary services. As such, every purchased ticket contributes to our animal welfare operations. To meet the rising demand for our services, SPCA (HK) is going to build a new centre in Tsing Yi and the funding received will also support this project.”

For information regarding the results of the raffle draw, members of the public can visit the SPCA (HK) website at www.spca.org.hk. The results will also be published on 28 June 2019 in The Standard and Sing Tao Daily.
