13-10-2018,SPCA(HK) Aniform Day 2018 Appreciation Ceremony cum SPCA Volunteer Inspectors Inauguration

(Hong Kong, 13 October 2018) 2018 marks the fourth consecutive year that the Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA(HK)” or “the Society”) has held the Aniform Day. The Society hopes to continue to promote the acceptance and harmonious co-existence of all living creatures in the community.

As the fourth Aniform Day concluded successfully and in recognition of the support from various organisations, schools and groups, the Society hosted a SPCA Aniform Day 2018 Appreciation Ceremony cum SPCA Volunteer Inspectors Inauguration today at Hysan Place. 

Guests of Honour Dr CHUI Tak-yi, JP, Under Secretary for Food and Health officiated at the event alongside Ms Gigi Fu, President of SPCA and Ms Sharon Kwok, SPCA Cadet Inspector Ambassador. They presented certificates of appreciation to all the supporting organisations, schools and groups for their support.

At the ceremony, Ms Gigi Fu thanked all the supporter on behalf of the Society and further remarked that “On behalf of the SPCA, I would like to express our deep gratitude to all the participated organisations and schools for their efforts in help promoting an animal-friendly community as well as their generous donations.”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SPCA Volunteer Inspector Cadre, SPCA Deputy Director (Inspectorate) Karl Mak; Ms. Sharon Kwok and the first ever volunteer Inspector Mr Kelvin Yip shared with the audience their valuable experiences in animal rescue and encourage more people to join the SPCA’s volunteer works. Meanwhile, the Society also hosted a SPCA Volunteer Inspectors Inauguration to presented certificates of appointment to 26 volunteer inspectors. These volunteers not only give the Inspectorate substantial operational, administrative and managerial support, but also allow more animals to receive timely assistance. 

During the event, SPCA X Lukfook Jewellery’s PET PET Ambassador Contest also hosted the final of the competition where Ms Nancy Wong, the Executive Director of Lukfook Group, Ms Gigi Fu, Ms Sharon Kwok and the winning owners of Dog Ambassador Contest last year picked up the role as judges and selected the top three winning pets together. The top three pets will become Lukfook Jewellery ‘s Pet Pet Ambassador. Teaming up with the Pet Friendly Star - Pjai, their image will be used as designs on assessories. These accessories will be available for sale in Lukfook Jewellery shops all over Hong Kong and Macau. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the SPCA(HK) in support of its welfare operation.
