29-03-2017,Hong Kong SPCA Charity Raffle Ticket 2017 Safeguard and Help Animals

(Hong Kong, 29 March 2017)  The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA(HK)” or “the Society”) Charity Raffle Fundraiser has officially concluded. We owe the successes of this event to those who purchased tickets, our volunteers, participating corporations, and especially our sponsors who demonstrated their support with their donated prizes.

The theme for this year’s Charity Raffle Fundraiser is “Safeguard and Help Animals”. This encapsulates the more than 16,000 animals the SPCA(HK) helped every year which includes animals that are trapped, rehomed and dessexed. Each year, SPCA(HK) inspectors receive more than 31,000 calls requiring assistance and rescue more than 1,300 animals. Be it rain or shine, inspectors stand by their post 24-hours to place their best foot forward in rescuing animals in danger. The SPCA also homes more than 2,000 animals. Those entering our door are given dedicated care by our veterinarian and homing teams as well as foster families, to help them ultimately find their forever homes.

Ms Gigi Fu, the President of the SPCA said, “99% of SPCA(HK)’s operation is funded by private donations and veterinary services. As such, every purchased ticket contributes to our animal welfare operations to ultimately help more animals.”

For information regarding the results of the raffle draw, members of the public can visit the SPCA(HK) website at ww.spca.hk/en/. The results will also be published on 3 April in The Standard and Sing Tao Daily.
