25-09-2015,SPCA Charity Raffle 2015 “Give Homeless Animals a Loving Home” Offers helping hands to bring a secure future to more animals

(Hong Kong, 25 September 2015) The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is proud to announce our Charity Raffle 2015 fundraiser has repeated the success of previous years. With the help of our dedicated volunteers and participating corporations, our deepest gratitude is extended to everyone involved, especially the sponsors who donated the fabulous raffle prizes.

The theme this year was “Give Homeless Animals a Loving Home”, which is in line with the fact that every year the SPCA helps about 2,000 homeless animals find loving new families. The animals that enter our adoption programme come from a variety of sources. They may be sick or injured and require veterinary care and nursing, whereas young animals and those recovering from illness receive help from our dedicated team of foster parents.

“As an animal welfare organisation who rehomes the largest number and the most species of animals in Hong Kong, 99% of SPCA operations are funded by public donations and the income generated by the Society’s Veterinary Department. However, extensive resources are needed to provide daily care while these homeless animals are waiting for a new life. The funds raised by this campaign will provide significant support to the Society’s work.” according to SPCA Deputy Executive Director Ms. Winnie Chu.
