  Mobile Clinics

As well as our static clinics we also provide 2 mobile clinics to serve the community:

Animal welfare mobile clinic

Our Mission
The mobile clinic services the need of around 3,000 companion animals per annum and offers reduced cost services to pets whose owners are unable to afford basic veterinary care. The clinic is available to both members and non-members and allows the SPCA to maintain a presence in outlying areas to facilitate the promotion of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

Background
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HK) has been providing a mobile clinic service to the New Territories since 1987. The areas served are Shatin, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan and from July 1st 2008 we expanded our services to include Tung Chung, Lantau Island. After a successful fundraising appeal our 3rd generation mobile clinic began operation in early April 2007 providing improved facilities including fully computerised records and a larger more comfortable examination room.

The Future
The future existence of the SPCA mobile clinic in the New Territories and Outlying Islands should be seen as an important contribution to:

  • The welfare of animals in the area
  • The well-being of the less well-off members of the public in the vicinity who nonetheless should be able to benefit from the companionship of animals
  • The provision of committed, quality, consistent and caring veterinary medicine in these neighbourhoods.

Animal Welfare Vehicle

The Animal Welfare Vehicle (AWV) is a mobile surgical unit dedicated to providing sterilisation for dogs and cats where needed. It is one of the vital roles of the veterinary surgeons in the Veterinary Services Department to provide their professional surgical expertise. This initiative is designed to tackle the problem of overpopulation of animals that results from thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens being born each year; a problem particularly prevalent in the New Territories.

If you are interested in our AWV please call 2232 5513 for further details regarding booking and schedules.
