The SPCA Family Wag 'N' Walk 2011 will be held at Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung on Sunday, March 27 morning. Our objective is to raise $800,000 for building an Animal Welfare Centre in the New Territories.
The walk is along the scenic High Island reservoir. A short route is 3km round trip while the complete route is 6km round trip. Collect cute animal stickers at the checkpoints along the way, and get a souvenir if you complete the set! Shuttle buses are available for walkers who desire a shorter walk.
Our walk starts and ends at the Pak Tam Chung Barbeque site. Food and beverages, music and games await walkers upon their return to wrap up a wonderful and relaxing morning!
The SPCA receives over 42,000 calls each year to help animals and the number continues to grow.Nearly 55% of these calls are in the NewTerritories as is the majority of our desexing and welfare work. Over the past two years we have been actively looking for a suitable site on which we can establish permanent SPCA New Territories Animal Welfare Centre. This facility will enable our Inspectors to operate more effectively in the NewTerritories, and provide emergency kenneling, quarantine keeping of prosecution animals, sometimes for very long periods of time.
The enrollment fee is $380 per dog. We suggest that each registered participant help raise $500 in sponsorship for the centre.
Coaches are available from Admiralty, Kowloon Tong, Shatin and Tuen Mun. |
