Animal Protection Humane Education Project for Schools in Xiamen, China - a 4-year joint project between the SPCA (HK) and the Xiamen Animal Protection Association (XMAPA), China, for the school students in Xiamen.
The SPCA believes that EDUCATION is the key to minimising animal abuse, improving animal welfare and that the new generation will be the agent for future change in China . Students will cultivate positive values for social and personal development and a concern and respect for others. They will learn about the power of their actions and how to use such power in a responsible manner.
The XMAPA, an animal welfare NGO which is primarily comprised of teachers and principals, is responsible for recreating the education package and making it relevant to the local Chinese environment and easily to be incorporated into China 's school syllabus.
Only HK$25 is required for printing a copy of the Animal Protection Humane Education textbook to reach the hand of each student. We aim to reach 35,000 students; both primary and secondary by 2013.
